Slowing down for loving union with Jesus

Our main goal with Jesus is to stay connected to the Holy Spirit, which helps us keep our loving relationship with Him. In ancient Hebrew culture, all actions were seen as spiritual, and worship was part of daily life. They understood that the spiritual and physical realms are different but should work together. Today, we often see these realms as separate, which influences how we include Jesus in our everyday lives.

Daily Practices of Being with Jesus

These activities help you step away from technology and deepen your connection with Jesus. They connect the physical and spiritual. As you participate, your relationship with Jesus can grow more personal. It’s helpful to do these in groups, such as LifeGroups or with family. Begin with the Rule of Life, which lays the groundwork for your spiritual path. Spend at least a week on each activity or continue as long as needed.

Rule of Life

Start here: A Rule of Life guides our daily habits and attitudes to support our spiritual growth.

Silence

Silence meets our need to be listened to. It encourages us to slow down, create space to listen, and focus on Jesus.

Solitude

Solitude helps us realize our need for connection. We seek strength from Jesus before seeking it from others & the world.

Prayer

Prayer fulfills our need to breathe. It is taking in heavenly air and staying connected with the Holy Spirit daily.

Meditation

Meditation has been associated with Eastern religions for too long. It's time for the Church to reclaim true Biblical meditation.

Fasting

Fasting is often misused in the Church. We need a better understanding of what the Bible says about fasting and its impact.
