Being with God through Prayer

Prayer was Jesus’ primary means of being with His Father. It should be the central axis of every follower of Jesus. This is the place where we enjoy the presence of our Father, where we co-labour and participate in extending His Kingdom here on earth.

Prayer is first and foremost relational and can be described as conversations we have with our Father. Following the ways of Jesus in prayer is learning to stay in a consistent connection and communion with Holy Spirit throughout our day-to-day lives.

Prayer is like love. Words pour at first. Then we are more silent and can communicate in monosyllables. In difficulties a gesture is enough, a word, or nothing at all—love is enough.
— Carlo Carretto

The disciples wanted to know how to pray. Jesus’ response was to teach a pattern of prayer.

Our imaginations can be a powerful tool when used in prayer.
