THERE IS HOPE…
His Name is Jesus
Welcome to Hope Restored…
We all, at some point in our lives, become exhausted and feel hopeless, and last year (2020) tested us to the limits of that. It vomited out one thing after another which quickly eroded what little hope we had left. We didn’t see it coming and could not have predicted what it looked like. It will forever be a pivotal year of when the world suddenly shifted…
We have all been touched by this pandemic; families losing their source of income, losing loved ones with no chance of a goodbye, receiving medical news that doesn't inspire hope for the future! Many had to face Lockdown in total isolation, cut off from family and friends. The year 2020 has certainly stripped us in unexpected ways and we all have had to dig deep and face our internal worldview.
We have been forced to ask ourselves who or what have we placed our hope into?
For those who were looking forward to that holiday or new job or some kind of relief from their present circumstances, … that simply did not come… No relief was to be found! Even our crutches were taken from us, retail therapy not possible, going out wasn’t allowed, alcohol banned and smoking became illegal.
Is it possible to have hope when it feels like the world has gone mad?
As Followers of Jesus, what does Biblical hope look like when it feels like all has been lost? We want to take you on a journey of finding hope again, amidst your fear, confusion, pain and loss. To find Jesus in the storm of life and choose to cling to His goodness and peace. We want to exhort each other to keep hope alive…
“My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking…. Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive.” - James 1 v 2 - 4 TPT

Prayer to Restore Hope
Father God I come before you in the Name of Jesus and through His blood. When I read the Hebraic understanding of the word ‘Hope’, and that it refers to a cord or rope. I understand that my hope should be solely anchored in you, Jesus.
I recognise that I have anchored my hope to other people, circumstances and even myself. I repent for placing my security or hope in finances, people, medicine, government, companies, institutions, my own ability and___________ (anything else that comes to mind). I recognise that I have chosen to attach myself to everything and anything other than You and I confess that is sin. I ask you to cut off every cord from these false hopes and reattach a righteous cord of Hope to You in Jesus Name. I choose to be anchored and bound to You Jesus.
Father God I understand that Hope in You goes hand in hand with patience and waiting. I repent for being impatient and hasty, not wanting to wait for Your answer, and cutting the cord of hope when I feel that the answer is slow in coming. I repent to for making my own plans, solutions and trying to find a “quick-fix”. I repent for this cycle of self preservation. I repent of having more confidence in man and man-made structures than in You and finding refuge in other sources and not in You.
I repent for saying I have hope and believe in You but my actions and choices say otherwise. Job 8 states that the destiny of those who forget you and what they trust in is fragile, like a spider’s web, which gives way when they lean on it. Jesus, set me free from these false cords of trust and hope.
I repent from self and self empowerment. Your Word states that I am to find my strength, capacity, ability, power and might in the cord of hope that is secured to You. I acknowledge my helplessness and hopelessness to change anything about my situation or even change myself . Forgive me for feeling discouraged and hopeless because I thought I have been abandoned by You. I bring every wound that hopelessness has caused for restoration and healing. Forgive me for when I have withdrawn from You and therefore lost hope. I repent when I said that there was no hope. I repent when I chased after my own devices and followed the vain imaginations of my heart. I lay these down and return to your pathways of Hope.
I choose to devote my heart to you again and to secure my hope in You. I acknowledge I need a new mindset regarding Hope. Enable my spirit to understand the seasons of pruning are in reality seasons of establishing covenant so that the cords of hope will be stronger. I choose to hook all of my senses into Your Presence and make you my abiding dwelling place. I thank you that my spirit will be glad and rejoice and healing will come to my body.
Where my hope and expectation has been worn away, weakened, stretched and afflicted and I have become wounded because I felt that the waiting was too long. Restore hope to those parts, woundings and every area through your resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead. I claim back every lost hope in Jesus Name.
Jesus, repair and recover my ability to trust and wait patiently for You. Thank you that your Word says Your eye is upon those who hope in and patiently wait on Your kindness and mercy. I pray that my spirit will be bound securely to Your goodness, kindness and mercy. Thank you that Your goodness, faithfulness and favour will chase me down all the days of my life.
I declare that my hope will be focused on You, My King. I address my soul and break the covenant with hopelessness that either I or my ancestors made. I divorce myself from hopelessness and all spiritual forces associated with it. In the name of Jesus I cut the cords of hopelessness, false hope, misplaced hope that has been attached to any part of me by the blood of Jesus. I send every spirit attached to these cords back to where they came from, and I release Hope over myself. I declare to my soul to place your cords of hope onto Jesus, place your trust in Father God, thank you God for wrapping your cords of protection and security around me. Holy Spirit strengthen my soul to cling to Jesus and grant me the patience and endurance to do this. Teach me how to wait patiently. Thank you that waiting is an opportunity to bring you pleasure as I hope for and wait upon you!
Guide me back to Your fountain of Life so that I can drink from You and be refreshed and restored by You. Thank you that I can rest in you and in hope. Thank you Jesus, you are my hope and an anchor for my soul. Thank you Christ in me is the hope of Glory and that in Him I am anchored and bound to Your glory.
Amen
